The following items are restricted from countries outside of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). They may only be imported if a licence is obtained from the Minister with responsibility for Consumer Affairs and Internal Trade.

  • Live poultry, that is to say fowls of the species gallus domesticus, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowls
  • Meat and edible offals (except liver) that is to say fowl, ducks geese, turkey and guinea fowls fresh, chilled or frozen.
  • Fish frozen
  • Salmon trout and other fish except codfish, mackerel, herring, hake, saithe, haddock and Pollock dried salted or in brine.
  • Milk and cream not concentrated nor containing added sugar or other sweetening matter
  • Natural honey
  • Parts of trees and other plants suitable for use as Christmas trees

All cheques must be written to the Accountant General

  • Continuing the implementation of the provision of the Consumer Protection Act 2020.
  • Advance the level of Consumer Awareness throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
  • Update the subsidiary legislations in the price and Distribution of Goods Act.
  • Continue the drive towards full implementation of the Article 164 of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, including the Single Market and Economy.
  • Increase the speed in which trade is facilitated.
