Welcome to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' relations with foreign governments, as well as regional and international organizations. It seeks to create opportunities for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the field of foreign trade through the negotiation and monitoring of the relevant agreements and treaties.
Her Excellency Tsai Ing-wen, President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), is scheduled to visit Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for a two-day state visit from July 16 – 17, 2019; as part of a Caribbean region tour, which has been deemed as “President Tsai Ing-Wen Journey of Freedom, Democracy, Sustainability – Haiti, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia”.
As diplomatic representatives of nations from which many of the members of the Legislature were born, are children of parents and grandparents born in the Caribbean, members of the CARICOM Consular Corps received a special invitation from member of the Assembly, Mr. N. Nick Perry, to join in the auspicious occasion of celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month, in the state of New York on June 12, 2019. The event took place in the State Capitol, Albany, New York.
On Tuesday July 2, 2019, Mr. Percival Marie, Director General of the Caribbean Forum of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (CARIFORUM), states, briefed Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on its role as Chairmanship of CARIFORUM. Mr. Percival Marie held a meeting with Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce, Hon. Sir Louis Straker, and other senior officials in the Ministry. The Director General also met with senior officials from other key line Ministries within the Government Service of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
