It seeks to create opportunities for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the field of foreign trade through the negotiation and monitoring of the relevant agreements and treaties.
Multilateral Relations or multilateralism refers to multiple countries working in concert on a given issue(s).
St. Vincent Grenadines Multilateralism Policy
The Foreign Policy approach of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines regarding international and plurilateral relations has as its primary objective, the promotion and recognition for small, vulnerable island states as deserving special and differential treatment within the framework of the international economy.
Bilateral Relations (Bilateralism) consists of the political, economic, or cultural relations between two (2) sovereign/independent states.
When states recognize one another as sovereign states and agree to develop diplomatic relations, they exchange diplomatic agents such as ambassadors to facilitate dialogues and cooperation.
Through bilateral relations, states can develop tailored agreements that only apply to contracting states.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines currently has bilateral relations with approximately 135 countries.
