Extradition refers to one state giving over an individual to another state for purposes of criminal trial or punishment.
Deportation is defined as the removal from a country of an alien whose presence is unlawful or prejudicial.
Deportation occurs for a number of reasons. Most common among them are:
- The person is considered an undesirable person.
- The person has breached the countries immigration laws.
- The person is considered destitute or considered a prohibited immigrant.
