On Friday, 16th July, 2021, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade’s Conference Room, the UK-SVG Friendship Trust presented three hundred and thirty thousand Eastern Caribbean Dollars (EC$330,000) to the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as part of their ongoing commitment to assist with the relief efforts following the series of volcanic eruptions which have had an adverse impact on many lives and livelihoods in the country.
Ms. Michelle Forbes, Director of the National Management Organization (NEMO), gave an overview of the aftermath of the 2021 La Soufriere volcanic eruptions at the annual meeting on the Special Security Concerns of Small Island.
The CARICOM week of activities was held from 4th to 9th July, 2021. The week-long activities commenced on CARICOM Day with an Open 10k and 5k friendly run.
