Welcome to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' relations with foreign governments, as well as regional and international organizations. It seeks to create opportunities for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the field of foreign trade through the negotiation and monitoring of the relevant agreements and treaties.
The Ministry through its consular division provides the public with assistance on visa matters and also disseminates information to the general public on visa matters. The consular division will liaise with various Embassies with respect to making appointments for Government officials who need visas to travel.
Persons will from time to time whether local or foreign seek the Ministry’s assistance in forwarding or receiving legal documents pertaining to matters like divorce, marriage, educational certificates. The Ministry also apostille documents.
When Vincentian Nationals are being deported back to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Department are informed. Sometimes the Ministry is asked to provide birth certificates of the person being deported; these are forwarded to our overseas Consulates or to the Foreign Affairs ministry of the country deporting the Vincentian National. The certificates are needed to process emergency travel documents. If a foreign national is being deported from Saint Vincent, sometimes the Immigration Department solicits the assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in obtaining visas, etc.
