During the period July 15 to July 17, 2026, the Foreign Trade Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs hosted the OECS Integrated Risk Management Framework Training at the Methodist Church Hall.

In attendance were representatives from the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Bureau of Standards; General Employees Co-operative Credit Union (GECCU); the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation; the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine and Land Conservation, and Climate Resilience; the Private Sector Development Unit within the Office of the Prime Minister; the Sustainable Development Unit within the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development; the Consumer Affairs Unit within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs; Customs and Excise; and the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Modern Port Operations Company.

The training sessions on days one and three were facilitated by Trade and Customs Consultant Nigel Edwin of Saint Lucia, while the day two sessions were facilitated by Mr. Edwin alongside Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Customs Risk Management/ASYCUDA expert, Ms. Shernelle Brazel. The sessions promoted practical, risk-based approaches to strengthening the management of the movement of goods across the borders of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
