On behalf of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Gareth Bynoe, Resident Ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, joined representatives of fellow Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States in presenting humanitarian assistance to the Honourable Yván Gil, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, accompanied by Raúl Li Causi, Vice Minister for the Caribbean.

During a brief engagement with CARICOM representatives, Interim President Delcy Rodríguez conveyed her sincere appreciation to the leaders of the participating CARICOM Member States for their timely humanitarian assistance and solidarity with the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The regional humanitarian initiative comprises the donation of 88 containers of relief supplies, including food, medicines, construction materials, debris-removal equipment, and 300 water tanks, to support communities affected by the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck on Wednesday, 24th June, 2026.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, The Honourable Dr. Godwin Friday underscored Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' sympathy and solidarity with the Government and people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during this difficult time and reaffirmed the country's commitment to supporting CARICOM's humanitarian response.

The Honourable Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble highlighted that the initiative reflects the strength of regional cooperation and collective action in responding to times of crisis. He further stated that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is honoured to contribute to CARICOM's humanitarian efforts in support of the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines values its longstanding partnership with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and remains committed to fostering regional solidarity, cooperation, and mutual support.
