The High Commissioner of India to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Subhash Prasad Gupta, officially handed over the Edinboro Hardcourt to the government and people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines during the handover ceremony held on Monday, June 1st, 2026, in Edinboro.

The Edinboro hardcourt is one of five community-based projects implemented under the Quick Impact Project Agreement between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Among those in attendance were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs, Honourable Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble; the High Commissioner of India to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Subhash Prasad Gupta; the Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown, Honourable Daniel Cummings; the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, Honourable Kaschaka Cupid; the Coordinator of Sports, Mr. Roxell John; senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs; and representatives of BRAGSA.

In his remarks, Minister Cupid expressed appreciation to the Government of the Republic of India for its continued partnership and support. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further enhance the facility through the installation of solar-powered lighting and assured that the hardcourt would be properly maintained for the benefit of the community.


Kaschaka Cupid

Parliamentary Representative Cummings highlighted the positive impact the facility is expected to have on the lives of young people in the community. He also commended BRAGSA for its oversight of the project and underscored the importance of community stewardship in maintaining and enhancing the surrounding environment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of the Republic of India for its support through the Quick Impact Projects initiative. The Ministry also thanks all stakeholders whose contributions helped bring the project to fruition and reaffirms Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ commitment to further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations.
