On Monday, October 23rd, 2023, The Business Department of the Saint Vincent Grammar School (SVGS) along with other stakeholders hosted an inaugural CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) Youth Summit at the National Insurance Services (NIS) Conference Room. The summit was held under the theme, “You and Me, United with CSME”.

The intention of the CSME Youth Summit was to deepen students’ understanding of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy. CSME’s purpose is to improve the Member States respective position by integrating the region’s resources rather than Member States relying solely on their own resources.

The Honourable Keisal Peters; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade was the keynote speaker at Monday’s summit. Minister Peters outlined the importance of the CSME Youth Summit in sensitising the youth on current trade matters affecting Member States of CARICOM. The Honourable Minister also outlined the benefits of CSME and praised the stakeholders for putting together the brilliant initiative.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade applauds the stakeholders for organising such a dynamic summit and continues to support the development of the nation’s youth.
