Welcome to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' relations with foreign governments, as well as regional and international organizations. It seeks to create opportunities for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the field of foreign trade through the negotiation and monitoring of the relevant agreements and treaties.
The Economic Partnership Agreement Implementation Unit (EPAIU) was established in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs on the 17th October 2011.
The mandate of the Unit includes the following:
- raise key stakeholders’ awareness about the EPA including the opportunities presented by EPA, the actions required to take advantage of those opportunities, and the roles and the responsibilities of these stakeholders in the EPA implementation process;
- coordinate the EPA implementation process;
- further the implementation of CSME; and
- Collaborate with other agencies in supporting the private sector in taking advantage of the EPA and CSME, including coordinating the development and implementation of Action Plans for increasing the level of exports from SVG’s priority sectors.
