The CARICOM week of activities was held from 4th to 9th July, 2021. The week-long activities commenced on CARICOM Day with an Open 10k and 5k friendly run.

The CARICOM Open 10K was an open event for athletes and non-athletes from the Prospect Bus Stop to Heritage Square from 4-6 pm on Sunday, 4th July, 2021 in response to the call by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) for governments, community leaders, healthcare professionals, and citizens to work together to create an environment that supports a healthy lifestyle.

Annually, the CARICOM 10K run commemorates an upcoming Summit of CARICOM Heads of Government. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was held locally.

The winners of the competition were:

CARICOM 5K Female:

1st place - Katriel Bailey - 32: 30:19
2nd place - Lau Browne - 33:16:94
3rd place - Sternique Pope - 34:25:94

CARICOM 5K Male:

1st place - Saj Caesar - 45:20:29 (7 years old)
2nd place - Tru Matthias - 50:22:33 (8 years old)

CARICOM 10K Female:

1st place - Linda Mc Dowall - 42:18: 08
2nd place - Zita Vincent - 57:15: 75
3rd place - Jozel Miller - 1: 26: 13: 58 (1 hour, 26 minutes, 13.58 seconds)

CARICOM 10K Male:

1st place - Markie Edwards - 38:01: 12
2nd place - Ziel Spring - 38: 36: 37
3rd place - Pamenos Ballantyne - 41: 53: 43


In the CARICOM Open 10K, 1st place winners received EC$1,000, 2nd place winners received EC$750.00 and 3rd place winners received EC$500.00.
