Welcome to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' relations with foreign governments, as well as regional and international organizations. It seeks to create opportunities for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the field of foreign trade through the negotiation and monitoring of the relevant agreements and treaties.

 

The Consumer Affairs Unit falls under the Commerce Section of the Department of Commerce and Trade, and is responsible for regulating local trade. It consists of staff of five persons -- one (1) Supervisor and four (4) junior officers.

 

To research, analyse and advise on the formulation of Foreign and Trade policy and to coordinate the implementation of these policies through the most efficient and effective use of available human and financial resources for the sustainable development of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.

Goals

  1. Improved business practices by business organisations.
  2. Involvement of the public in Consumer Protection.
  3. More satisfied consumers/less consumer complaints.
  4. A better-informed public/community on consumer rights.
  5. Enactment of the Consumer Protection Legislation.
