Her Excellency Tsai Ing-wen, President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), is scheduled to visit Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for a two-day state visit from July 16 – 17, 2019; as part of a Caribbean region tour, which has been deemed as “President Tsai Ing-Wen Journey of Freedom, Democracy, Sustainability – Haiti, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia”.

President Tsai Ing-wen's tour of the region is aimed at further strengthening cooperation, exchanges and friendship, between Taiwan and its four (4) Caribbean allies. In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, President Tsai will hold talks with Prime Minister, Dr. The Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves.

President Tsai’s delegation will comprise of high level government officials, as well as legislators and business representatives. The trip is her first to the region as Head of State, and seventh abroad since assuming office in May, 2016.
